Pride Food is right in the middle of Pathi Market 3 in Borivali West. Being in a market means our day starts when most people are still asleep. We have to get the shutters up and the stock organized before the first customers show up. It’s a tight space and we have to be careful not to trip over the crates. We don't have a fancy mission statement. We just sell food items to the people who walk by every day. Some of our customers have been coming here for years, and we know them by face. We spend a lot of time counting inventory and talking to suppliers on the phone. The market is loud and crowded, and our shop is part of that noise. We don't use big words to describe what we do. It’s just about having the right stuff on the shelves and making sure the price is fair. Sometimes the lights flicker or the floor gets muddy when it rains outside. We just sweep it out and keep going. The staff here is small, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. It’s a busy life and it can be tiring standing on your feet all day. But we like the routine of the market and the way things work here. It is just a regular shop doing regular business for the neighborhood. We don't complicate things more than they need to be.
