You can find us at 29 Keshavji Naik Road. We’ve been here for a very long time, as you can probably tell from the old style of the building. Our post box number is 5032, but most people just walk in. We’re a traditional firm, Premji Bhanji & Co., and we’ve stuck to our ways mostly. We trade in various commodities. The street outside is always full of handcarts and tempos, it's the heart of the old trading district. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, but there’s always the sound of someone typing or counting out cash. We don’t use much high-tech equipment, just the basics to get the job done. Our desks are old wooden ones that have been here for decades. We know the other shop owners on the street well, we all look out for each other. Dealing with goods means we have to be careful about quality and weights. We’ve had the same suppliers for ages. It’s a lot of trust-based work. We don’t have a marketing team or a fancy logo. People know us because of our name and where we are located. Sometimes the monsoon rains make it hard to get stock in and out, but we manage. It’s just a steady, daily grind of buying and selling. We’re just a small part of the big Mumbai trade machine, keeping things simple and honest. We don't change things just for the sake of it, as long as the work gets done right.
