If you take the train to Miragaon and walk towards Sv Road, you’ll find us right near the railway station. Prayesh Wood Craft is just a small workshop where we deal with wood all day long. The sound of the trains passing by is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. It’s a noisy spot, but it’s convenient for getting materials in and out. The shop floor is always covered in wood scraps and curly shavings from the planes. I remember when I first moved into this space, it felt huge, but now with all the wood stacked up against the walls, it feels quite tight. We do a lot of cutting and joining here. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find a polished floor or air conditioning. We leave the doors open to let the air circulate, even when the road outside is dusty. Most of the people who stop by are locals who need something specific made for their homes. We don't have a catalog or anything like that. We just talk to people about what they need and then we start working on it. Sometimes it takes longer than expected because we’re a small team and we don’t like to rush the drying or the finishing parts. It’s just a regular local shop where we work hard and try to keep things moving. We usually close up when it gets too dark to see the marks on the wood.
