Praya Unisex Salon

Our salon is sitting in Shop No 9 of the Premji Kanji Visariya Chawl. It's on T J Road in Sewri. If you know the Dosti Flamingo buildings, we are right across from there. It’s a unisex place, so we see everyone. Men, women, and kids come in for all sorts of things. The chawl has a lot of history and we've been part of this street for quite some time. The floor is tiled and we try to keep it swept, though hair gets everywhere during the morning rush. We have the usual setup with mirrors and some old magazines on the table for people waiting. Nothing fancy here. My cousin helped me paint the walls last year. They’re a bit yellowish now but it feels like home to us. We do haircuts and whatever else people ask for. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a minute or two, but it usually comes back fast. It's just how things are in Sewri. People stop by to chat even if they don't need a trim. We know most of the families around here. The chairs are the old-fashioned kind that tilt back. They're heavy but sturdy. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just find us by walking past or hearing about us from a neighbor. It's a small business, just enough to keep us busy and pay the bills. If you're on T J Road, just look for the open door.
