Prakash Railway Cargo

Prakash Railway Cargo is based in Shop Number 44 at the Orient Shopping Plaza. We’re down in Khetwadi at Grant Road, right below the Orient Hotel. It’s a busy location, and being below a hotel means we get a lot of foot traffic and random people asking for directions throughout the day. Our main focus is cargo that moves through the railway system. We spend our days dealing with boxes, crates, and heavy bundles of all different sizes. The shop is often packed nearly to the ceiling with items waiting to be sent out or collected by their owners. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside, but we make it work somehow. Grant Road is always alive with energy, and our shop is no different. We deal with a lot of paperwork to keep track of where everything is supposed to go. Sometimes the trains are delayed or there's a strike, and we have to explain that to frustrated people, which isn't always the fun part of the job. We just try to be straightforward and tell them what we know. The lighting in the plaza isn't the best, and the air can get a bit stuffy during the summer, but we’ve been here so long it feels like home. We’re not a huge corporation with a call center and fancy uniforms. It’s just us behind the counter handling your parcels one by one. We’re usually here until late.
