We are located at unit 12 in the Akurli Industrial Estate in Kandivali East. Being in an industrial estate means it’s always loud and there’s always a truck blocking the way, but that’s just how it goes here. Pragati Chem Impex is basically an import and export firm for chemicals. We spend a lot of time dealing with customs, shipping lines, and warehouses. It’s not the kind of job you can do without getting your hands a little dirty, metaphorically speaking. The office is right next to where the action is. We have a small crew that handles the documentation and the logistics. It’s a lot of back-and-forth communication. Sometimes things get delayed at the port, and we have to spend the whole day on the phone trying to fix it. We don't use any fancy management software or corporate slogans. We just write things down and make sure we don't lose the files. It’s a practical, no-nonsense environment. Most of the other businesses in the estate are like us, just people trying to make a living and keep things moving. We’ve been on Akurli Road for a long time and we know most of our neighbors. If you need someone who knows how to get chemicals from point A to point B, that’s basically what we do every day. We aren't looking to be the biggest name in the business, we just want to get the orders through without any major headaches. It keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday.
