Prafulla Colour & Chemicals Co is located at Shop No 262 in Mehta Estate, near Charni Road and Chowpatty. Being in Girgaon means we are right in the thick of things. Our shop is full of containers and bags of different pigments and chemicals. It’s not a pretty store with displays. It’s a place for people who know what they need for their own businesses or hobbies. We’ve been at Mehta Estate for years, and the shelves are getting a bit old. We have stains on the floor from different dyes, which is just part of the job. It can be a bit overwhelming with all the different smells, but we don't notice it anymore. We don't have a website with a shopping cart. Usually, people just come in and ask for a specific color or chemical. We weigh it out, bag it, and that’s it. Charni Road is always busy with traffic and people going to the beach, but we stay focused on the shop. It’s a small team here, just family and a couple of helpers. We don't do big advertisements. We just rely on the fact that we've been here a long time and know our stock. The space is tight, and we have to stack things high to fit it all in. It’s a traditional way of doing business. We aren't corporate; we are just a local shop in Girgaon. We close up around dinner time most days.
