Poonam Printers

Being in Goregaon West for so long has taught us a lot about how people work. Poonam Printers is just a small local shop. We don’t have a big signage or anything that stands out too much. It’s just a place where we do a lot of printing. Whether it’s books, forms, or just some photocopies, we handle it. The morning starts with opening up the shutters and dusting off the machines. Goregaon is always noisy, so we’ve got used to working with the sound of rickshaws in the background. My father started this place years ago, and I just sort of took over. We haven't changed much since then. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking sound, but it works. We don't spend money on fancy marketing or anything. We just talk to the people who walk in. Some are students from the nearby schools, others are shop owners. We try to be helpful and get the colors right, even if the machines are old. Sometimes we’ve stayed up late to finish a big order because a customer was in a rush. It’s not always easy, and the margins are thin, but it keeps us going. We’re just regular people trying to make a living by putting ink on paper. There’s no secret to it. Just hard work and a bit of patience when the power goes out or a machine jams up in the middle of a big job. We just keep at it.
