Our place is at 28/207 on Masjid Bunder Road, right where Ramaiha Lane and Church Road meet. It is a very tight area with a lot of trucks and handcarts moving around all day long. If you have ever been to Masjid Bunder, you know how packed the streets get. We run the transport business from a small office that is basically filled with logbooks and old delivery receipts. The air is always full of the smell of spices or whatever else is being loaded nearby. We spend our time coordinating drivers and making sure the loads are going to the right places. It is a lot of shouting over the noise of the traffic and checking the time. We don't have fancy furniture or a big sign. Most people know where we are because we have been in this lane for years. The office gets a bit dusty with the windows open, but we need the breeze. It is hard work keeping everything on schedule when the roads are this narrow and the traffic is so heavy. We just take it one truck at a time. It is not the kind of job you do if you want to sit in a quiet room all day. We are right in the thick of the market, and that is just how we like it. The days go by fast when you have so many things to move and people waiting.
