Pooja Plywood

Our shop, Pooja Plywood, sits right in Chhabria House over on S.N. Road in Irani Wadi. If you know Kandivli West, you know it’s a packed area with a lot going on. The smell of wood is pretty much stuck in our clothes by the end of the day. We have stacks of plywood and boards everywhere, so moving around the back can be a bit of a squeeze. It's a family-style setup, really. Someone is always checking the thickness of a sheet or making sure the edges aren't chipped. We get a lot of local carpenters coming in, and they usually know exactly what they want, so we don't have to say much. It’s a dusty job, no way around that. We try to keep things organized, but when a big delivery comes in, the whole floor gets cluttered for a few hours. The location in Irani Wadi is convenient for most of the local projects. We’ve seen a lot of shops come and go, but we’re still here at the same spot. It’s just about getting the right wood to the right person at a fair price. We don't have a big fancy showroom, just the stacks and a small desk where we write out the bills. It’s simple, it’s physical, and it keeps us busy. We just keep doing what we know.
