Payal

Our shop is called Payal and we are located right near Bhagwati Hospital here in Maharashtra. Being so close to the hospital means we see a lot of people coming and going at all hours of the day and night. Some are visitors, others are staff, and we try to have what they might be looking for in a hurry. It’s a small place, nothing special to look at from the outside. We have a counter and some shelves that are mostly full of various goods. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or big signs. The sign we have is enough for people to find us. Usually, I am the one behind the counter from early morning until late evening. It gets a bit lonely sometimes, but there’s always someone stopping by for a quick chat or some help. We don't have a big story about why we started the business. We just needed a way to make a living and this shop was available at the right time. The weather here can be very humid, so we keep a small fan pointed right at the chair behind the counter. We don't do any advertising at all. People just know we are here because we’ve been here for a long time. Sometimes the hospital noise can be a bit much with the ambulances, but you get used to it after a few weeks. We just keep things simple and try to be helpful.
