Patil Printers

Our printing press is located at Gala No 23 in the Wadala Udyog Bhava. We are quite close to the telephone exchange, so that is usually the landmark we tell people to look for. The building itself is an industrial one, full of different workshops and small businesses. Inside our gala, it’s usually quite loud because of the printing machines running. There is always that specific smell of ink and fresh paper hanging in the air. We’ve been doing this for a long time now. My family has been involved in the printing trade for years. We handle all sorts of jobs, from small handbills to larger documents that people need for their offices. The space is pretty packed with stacks of paper, boxes of finished work, and the machines themselves. You really have to mind where you walk. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. You just walk right into the work area and talk to whoever is free. Some days the machines give us trouble and we have to spend hours fixing them. It’s part of the job. Wadala is a good area for this kind of work since there are many businesses around who need things printed quickly. We just try to keep up with the orders and make sure everything is legible. It’s hard work, especially in the heat, but we are used to it.
