Parikhs Hospital

We are over in the Lilam Building, occupying blocks six through nine. It’s right near Borivali station, which is handy but also makes it very noisy with all the people rushing to catch trains. The area is always crowded. We’ve been in this building for years. The hallways are a bit narrow and we've had to squeeze in extra cabinets for storage over time. It isn't one of those shiny new hospitals you see in magazines. It's an old building, and you can tell by the floors and the way the windows rattle when a heavy truck goes by. We spend a lot of our time just managing the flow of people coming from the station area. The staff knows the local tea stall guy well because we're always grabbing quick drinks between shifts. Sometimes the lift in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs a lot. It keeps us moving, I guess. We have a lot of regular patients who have been coming to us since they were kids. Now they bring their own children. It’s a lot of paperwork, mostly done by hand or on some older computers that take their time to start up. We just keep going, day in and day out. It’s a busy life here in Borivali East, but we’re used to the pace and the constant hum of the city right outside our doors. It is just part of being in this busy neighborhood.
