Paras Freight Carrier

If you head down toward the railway station and look for Surat Sadan, you’ll find us at Paras Freight Carrier. We are in room 303. This part of Masjid is always a bit of a mess with all the people and carts moving around. Our office is tucked away in the building, and it’s usually piled high with delivery slips and logbooks. We deal with moving goods from one place to another, which sounds simple but usually involves a lot of shouting on the phone and tracking down where a driver has parked. The elevators in this building can be slow, so we end up taking the stairs a lot. It’s a practical business. We don't have any decorative plants or nice paintings on the walls. It’s just desks, phones, and the smell of old paper. Sometimes the noise from the station gets so loud we have to close the windows, but then it gets too hot. We spend our days coordinating loads and making sure the crates get put on the right trucks. It’s repetitive work, but it keeps things moving. Most of the guys we work with have been coming here for years, so we know most of the faces. It is just a regular spot where work gets done without any fuss. We stay busy from morning until late evening when the last of the paperwork is filed. It’s a bit dusty and loud, but that’s just the nature of freight.
