Paramount Seals & Packings

Our shop is at J B Nagar 79 A. It’s a bit of a crowded area, but we’ve gotten used to the noise and the people over the years. We handle seals and packings, which sounds pretty boring to most people, but it’s what we know. The shelves are packed with all sorts of rubber rings, gaskets, and mechanical seals. It can get pretty dusty back there in the storeroom because there are so many small parts to keep track of. When a customer walks in, they usually have a broken part in their hand and they need a match for it. We spend a lot of time measuring things with calipers to make sure the fit is exactly right. It’s a small operation here at 79 A. There’s a tea stall just down the road that we visit a couple of times a day. The office part of the shop is just a small corner where we handle the bills and the phone calls. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for a long time. It’s steady work. Some days it’s quiet and we just organize the stock, and other days three people come in at once needing something urgent for a factory machine. We just try to keep the right sizes in stock so nobody leaves empty-handed. It’s a very simple and practical business, really.
