Panache Saloon & Academy

Panache Saloon & Academy sits right at the junction of Link Road and M.G. Road in Kandivali West. It’s a busy spot because of the traffic lights and everyone moving between the two main roads. We are right below Aarya Hospital, so we see people coming and going from there all day long. In the shop, we have the salon side and then the academy part where students are trying to learn how to cut hair or do makeup. It gets a bit noisy with all the talking and the hair dryers going at once. The students sometimes look nervous when they first start, but they get the hang of it eventually. Being on a corner like this means we see everything that happens on the street. It’s a bit of a landmark for people giving directions. The floor is usually covered in hair by mid-afternoon until someone grabs the broom. We don't have a big fancy entrance, just the door leading in from the pavement. People come in from the heat to get a haircut and stay a bit longer just to cool down. It’s a straightforward kind of place. We’ve been at this location for a while, and the hustle of the Link Road is just part of our daily life now. Sometimes the hospital staff comes down for a quick service when they have a break between their long shifts. It is just regular work for us.
