Our office is located in the B2 wing of the Aishwarys building in Powai. If you know Mumbai at all, you know Powai is full of tech startups and big companies, but our corner of it is actually quite grounded and quiet. We spend most of our time dealing with database stuff and software systems. It is a lot of data entry and long hours staring at computer monitors. The building is okay, nothing too fancy, just a standard workplace where people come to do their jobs and then go home. We have a small pantry where we mostly talk about the terrible traffic on the JVLR or where to get the best lunch for a decent price. We don't really go for the whole corporate culture thing with team-building retreats or those motivational posters on the walls. We just focus on the technical tasks we have for the day. Sometimes the servers act up and we have to stay a bit late, which isn't great, but it is just part of the deal. Powai is a nice place to be, though. There are plenty of spots to grab a quick snack when things get a bit stressful. We have a mix of people here, some who have been with us for years and some new faces. We don't have any big mission statements. We just try to get the code right and keep the systems running for the people who use them.
