Bhansali Diamonds

Bhansali Diamonds is based in room 207 of the Panchratna building. If you are in the diamond trade, you definitely know where Panchratna is in Opera House. It’s a very famous building for this work. Our office is small and mostly filled with safes and desks. We spend almost all our time here. Dealing with diamonds means you are always looking through a magnifying glass. It’s a lot of concentration. The building is always full of people, and the hallways are narrow. We have a heavy door for security. You have to ring the bell and wait for us to open it. It’s not the kind of place where you just wander in to look around. We deal with specific people who know what they want. Sometimes the air conditioning gets a bit too cold, so we have to keep a sweater handy. We’ve been in this spot for many years. We know the people in the next offices and the guards downstairs. It’s like a small town inside one building. We don't have a mission statement or any of that. We just buy and sell stones. It’s a business my family has been in for a long time. We use computers for the stock now, but we still like our paper notebooks too. It’s just how we feel comfortable. It’s a busy life, but we like the pace of it. We keep things very simple.
