Omkar Engineering

You can find Omkar Engineering tucked away in the Deo Compound over in Bhandup West. We are on Subhashnagar Road, which most locals know is pretty close to the Ceat Tyre plant. Our space is unit F/6. It’s an industrial kind of area, so it gets noisy with all the machines and work going on nearby, but we’re used to it. We’ve been in this spot for a bit now. The shop floor is where most of the action happens. It’s not the cleanest place in the world because engineering is messy work. We have grease on our hands and tools scattered around where they’re needed. People stop by to ask about parts or projects, and we just talk to them plainly. There’s no front desk with a receptionist or anything like that. You just walk in and find someone who isn't too busy to talk. We focus on the metal and the machines. Sometimes the heat in the compound gets a bit much during the summer, but we keep the fans going and stay on schedule. It’s a local business through and through. We know the neighbors in the other units and sometimes borrow a tool if we’re in a pinch. It’s a community of makers and fixers. We take pride in just knowing how things work and getting them fixed up. That’s what our days look like from Monday to Saturday.
