We are tucked away in Tulsiwadi Lane, right inside Hotel Rosewood. If you’re looking for us, we’re directly opposite Mahindra Heights in the Tardeo area. Being in Mumbai, it’s always a bit hectic outside, but inside the restaurant, things are a little more focused. We mostly cook Bengali food. A lot of us working here have roots back in Kolkata, so we try to keep the flavors the way we remember them from home. It’s not just about fish and rice, though we do plenty of that. The kitchen is always busy with the smell of mustard oil and spices. The dining room has a certain feel to it, maybe a bit old-fashioned compared to the new glass buildings in Mumbai, but we like it that way. We get a mix of families coming in for big Sunday lunches and office folks during the week. Some people have been coming here for years and they don't even look at the menu anymore. They just ask what’s fresh today. The parking around Tardeo can be a real pain, so most people take taxis or just walk from nearby. It’s a steady pace here. We aren't trying to reinvent anything; we just want to serve the kind of food that makes people feel like they’re back in Bengal for an hour or two. We've seen the neighborhood change a lot, but we stay the same.
