Oberoi Roadways

We've been at 20 Shantiniketan Podar Chawl for a while now. It's right in the Vashi Motor Centre area, which is always busy with trucks and drivers coming and going. Running Oberoi Roadways means we spend most of our days dealing with logistics and making sure goods get where they need to be. It's not a fancy job. The office is simple, just what we need to keep things moving. You'll find us here early in the morning, usually sorting out paperwork or talking to the guys on the road. The heat in Vashi can get pretty bad in the summer, but that’s just part of it. We know the routes well and we know the people around here. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes things get delayed because of traffic or weather, but we just handle it as it comes. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the motor center stays pretty much the same—greasy, loud, and active. If you’re looking for us, we’re tucked in the Podar Chawl. It’s a practical setup. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. Just a desk, some phones, and a lot of maps. Most of our work happens outside on the road anyway. We just focus on getting the trucks loaded and sent off. It's steady work and we've been doing it long enough that we don't need to make a big fuss about it. Just keeping the wheels turning and making sure the paperwork is in order before the sun goes down.
