Our office is in Room 237 on the ground floor of Gul Fort. It is very close to the GPO, so we see a lot of people heading there all day long. Being on the ground floor is lucky because we don't have to climb any stairs with the heavy files we carry around. The building has that old feel to it, and it can get a bit dim in the hallways, but our room is where everything happens. We do shipping work, which mostly means we deal with a lot of documents and customs things that most people find boring. It is a lot of checking lists and making sure the stamps are in the right place. We have been in this spot for a while now. The area around here is always crowded, especially near the post office. Sometimes it takes a long time just to walk a short distance because of all the people and the traffic. We usually start our morning with a quick check of what came in overnight. It’s not a glamorous job, sitting behind a desk in a small room, but it’s what we know how to do. We have our regulars who come by and we know their names. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. The tea from the stall nearby is what keeps us going through the afternoon slumps. If you come by, just look for the number 237, we are usually there until the sun goes down and the office clears out.
