Nishant Art Jewellers

Our shop is inside the Ramchod Ray Mandir Building at number 79. If you know Bhuleshwar, you know how crowded it gets, especially near Maganlal Dresswala. There’s always someone shouting or a bell ringing from the temple nearby. We’ve been sitting in this same spot for years, watching the crowds go by. It’s a small space, and we have to keep everything organized or we’d lose track of the small pieces we work on. Nishant Art Jewellers is really just a family thing. My father worked here before me, and the smell of the metal polish is something I’ve known since I was a kid. We don’t have those fancy air conditioners that make you freeze; we just have a couple of old fans that hum all day. Customers come in looking for something specific, and sometimes we spend hours just looking through boxes with them. It’s not like those big malls where everything is behind glass and you can’t touch anything. Here, it’s more personal. We know the people who run the shops next to us, and we often share tea in the afternoons. The floor is a bit worn out from all the feet walking over it, but it feels like home to us. When the market closes at night, it finally gets quiet, and that’s when we finish up the last bits of work before heading out ourselves. It is just a normal life in a busy market.
