If you are looking for us, we are tucked away in Sher E Punjab Colony over in Andheri East. It’s quite a lively spot since Tolani College is nearby, so there are always students and people working in the area walking past. We have been running Nirmal Group Of Hotels here for a while, and it’s mostly about providing a decent place to stay for people visiting Mumbai. The rooms are plain but we try to keep them clean and the fans working properly. Dealing with the Mumbai humidity is a constant job, but we do what we can. Our staff lives close by, so they know the neighborhood well. Sometimes guests ask for directions to the station or a good place to grab a tea, and we just tell them what we know. It is not like those giant hotels you see in the movies with gold everywhere. We are more of a local establishment where you get a key and a bed without any fuss. The mornings are usually the busiest when everyone is checking out or looking for breakfast. We get a mix of travelers, some stay for a night and some stay for a week while they look for jobs or do business in the city. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the laundry and the cleaning, but it keeps us busy. We just try to be helpful when someone arrives tired from their journey.
