We are based out in Dahisar, at number 3. It’s a small setup, nothing like those big agencies you see in the city. We have been here for a long time, and most of the locals know the spot. The space is filled with a lot of different things—brushes, some old paints, and scraps of materials we’ve used for various jobs. It’s not the tidiest place in the world, but we know exactly where everything is. Usually, there is a bit of dust on the shelves and the floor has some paint marks that won’t ever come off. We spend a lot of our time just working with our hands. Dahisar is a bit quieter than the main parts of Mumbai, which is nice when you’re trying to concentrate on a design or a piece of work. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. Sometimes we sit outside on the stools when the weather is okay, just to take a break from the indoor light. People stop by to ask for signs or bits of artwork, and we just talk it through over a tea. There isn't a reception desk or a fancy portfolio book. We just show them what we are working on right then. It’s a very simple way of doing things. We like being in this neighborhood; it feels like home and the work just keeps coming in.
