New Mobile Point

New Mobile Point is tucked away in the Pragati Industrial Estate in Sewri. If you are coming down N M Joshi Marg or Delisle Road, you have to look for the main gate and then head to unit number 7. It’s an industrial area, so there are always trucks loading and unloading crates right outside our door. The air smells like grease and old metal, which is pretty standard for this part of Mumbai. Our unit is basically a large room with high ceilings. It gets pretty loud during the day because of the workshops next door. We have some basic wooden counters and a few shelves that we put up ourselves. The lighting is just a few long tubes on the ceiling that flicker sometimes. It’s not the kind of place where you’d come to relax, but it’s practical for what we do. We’ve been here for a few years and the landlord is a decent guy who doesn't bother us much. Most of our visitors are people who work in the other units or drivers passing through. The tea stall around the corner is where we spend most of our breaks during the afternoon. It’s a busy, gritty environment but it suits us just fine. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles, just a solid place to work in a part of town that never really stops moving. It's loud, but it is home.
