New Lomchings Restaurant

Our place is at Shop No 19 in Poonam Darshan, over in Poonam Nagar. If you are looking for us, we are right across from the Poonam Nagar Bus Stop in Andheri East. It’s a very busy part of Mumbai. There is always a bus pulling up or pulling out, so there is a constant flow of people walking past our door. Working at New Lomchings Restaurant means dealing with the Mahakali Caves Road traffic and the general rush of the city. We spend our mornings getting the sauces ready and prepping the meat and vegetables. It’s a lot of prep work before the lunch rush hits. The space isn't huge, but we make it work. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when it’s raining outside and everyone wants to be indoors. We just keep our heads down and focus on the orders. 400093 is a lively zip code to be in. You see all kinds of people, from office workers to students. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us in the kitchen and at the counter. Sometimes we run out of something and have to run to the market quickly. It’s a real, messy, busy business. We try to keep the fans going so it stays cool enough to eat comfortably. It’s just a neighborhood spot.
