New Janta Medical General Stores

This shop is at Shop No 8 on the ground floor over in Govandi Thakurdwar. We are right across from Hussain Cheese Mart, which is a good landmark if you are trying to find us. New Janta Medical General Stores is a small place but we try to keep it stocked with what the neighborhood needs. It’s usually me or one of the boys behind the counter from early morning until pretty late at night. The area stays busy with people going to the market or just heading home from work. We have shelves full of the usual medicines and household stuff like soaps and shampoos. It’s not always organized perfectly because we are constantly moving boxes around to make space. Sometimes the delivery guys come all at once and the floor gets crowded with crates. We know most of the people who come in by name since they live in the plots nearby. It’s a simple life running a medical store. You listen to people talk about their health or their families while you count out their change. The fans hum overhead all day to keep the heat down. We don't do anything flashy here. It’s just a basic shop meant to serve the local folks. We get the daily newspapers delivered and sometimes neighbors stop by just to chat for a few minutes. That’s how things go in this part of Govandi. We’re just here doing our job every day. It gets a bit hectic but we manage.
