New Bhandun

New Bhandun has been sitting here on Nadirsha Sukhia Street for a while now. If you know Crawford Market, you know how noisy and busy it gets around here every single day. Our shop is just one of many, tucked away where the lanes get narrow and the sun doesn't always reach the ground. We mostly deal with everyday items that people need for their houses. It is a bit cramped inside because we try to keep everything in stock, so boxes are often piled up near the door. Sometimes it takes me a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for, but we usually have it somewhere in the back if they can wait. The fans are old and they make a clicking sound all day long that you just get used to. We open up early when the tempo trucks are still unloading nearby. It’s a lot of dust and shouting outside, but inside we just go about our business quietly. My family has been doing this for years, so we know most of the people who walk past our door. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. If you need something, you just come by and ask us. Dealing with the wholesalers and the crowd is tiring, but this is the heart of the city. We keep the accounts in big paper ledgers and drink chai twice a day while waiting. It's just a regular shop for regular people. That is it.
