Neo Art N Glass P Ltd is over at Mahalaxmi Arch, specifically units 22 and 23 on Dr E M Tardeo Road. The address can be a bit confusing because we’re near the Byraveshwara and Nadakerappa industrial estates in Hegganahalli too. It’s a busy area with a lot of trucks moving in and out all day. Working with glass is always a bit nerve-wracking because one wrong move and you’ve got a mess on your hands. We spend a lot of time measuring and cutting things to size. The floor usually has some bits of glass on it so we have to be careful where we walk. It’s not a quiet place because of the cutting machines and the sounds of the street coming in through the open doors. We do all sorts of glass work, from plain sheets to things with more design on them. The light in the workshop is okay, but we use big lamps to see the edges clearly. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know the routine. We don’t have fancy brochures or a front desk person. You just walk in and talk to whoever isn't holding a piece of glass at the moment. It’s dusty work and your hands get tough after a while. We just keep our heads down and try to get the orders out to the people waiting.
