We are over in Santacruz West, at the White Rose building in Khira Nagar. It’s right off S. V. Road, which is always packed with traffic. Navjyot Chemicals & Commodities Pvt. Ltd. is basically a small team working out of this office. We handle chemicals and different types of commodities. It's a lot of coordinating between suppliers and the people who actually use the stuff. The office is in a residential-commercial mix area, so it’s a bit quieter than a full industrial estate. We spend a lot of time on the phone or on the computer, checking prices and availability. Commodities can be tricky because things change so fast, but we've been at it long enough to not get too stressed about it. Most of our regular clients are people we’ve known for a decade. We don't have a big sales pitch. Usually, someone calls, asks if we can get something, and we see if it’s possible. It’s very practical work. Sometimes we have to go out and meet people or check on a shipment, but mostly we are right here. The building is an older one, but it suits us fine. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a sleek office. We just want to make sure the trade goes through without too many problems. It’s a steady job and we like the neighborhood. The coffee downstairs is decent, so that helps on long afternoons when the paperwork piles up.
