Nookaj Fashion Workshop

You can find our workshop at No. 4 in the Ashwamedh Building. We are on Ram Maruti Road-2 in Naupada, Thane West. It’s a nice area, usually quite lively with people shopping around. Our place is more of a workshop than a fancy store. We spend most of our time at the machines or at the big wooden table where we mark out the patterns. It’s a bit noisy with the hum of the motors and the chatter of the staff. We’ve got sketches pinned up on the walls and measuring tapes hanging from almost every hook. It's a bit of a creative mess, to be honest. There are scraps of fabric and different colored threads everywhere you look. We don’t really have a front desk or anything like that. When someone comes in, they usually just find us working and we stop what we’re doing to talk. People in Naupada know us for being practical. We focus on the fit and the way the fabric feels. The building itself is an older one, so it has some character, though the stairs can be a bit steep for some. We like being in Thane West because everything we need is close by. In the evenings, the road outside gets really busy, but inside the workshop, we just keep our heads down and finish the day's tasks. It’s a steady kind of life, making clothes one piece at a time for the locals.
