National Furnishing Co.

Mutton Street is a place that never really stays quiet. Our shop, National Furnishing Co., is right there at 86/88. If you have ever walked through Chor Bazar, you know the vibe already. It is crowded, there are people shouting, and there is always something interesting to see lying on the pavement. We have been sitting in this exact spot for quite a while now. The shop itself is not very huge, and we have fabrics and different materials piled up pretty high on the shelves. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped when a few people come in at once, but it works for us. We do not have a big team or any fancy computers to run things. Mostly, it is just us talking to people who wander in looking for something specific for their houses. A lot of the time, they are looking for old-style patterns or something that feels solid and lasts a long time. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for deliveries to arrive through the traffic. Dealing with the vans on this street is probably the hardest part of the day. The delivery trucks can barely squeeze through the narrow gaps between the shops. Sometimes we just stand outside and chat with the neighbors when business is slow in the heat of the afternoon. It gets very dusty with all the old goods moving around the market, so we are always cleaning.
