Nasreen Beauty Parlour

Nasreen Beauty Parlour is located in a very local spot in Santacruz East. We are in Room Number 1 of the Waly Mohd Mistry Chawl, right by the Vakola Pipe Line. It is a very busy and crowded area, but that’s what makes it feel like home. A good landmark for us is the Vienna Bakery, which is quite close by. You can usually smell the fresh bread when the wind blows the right way. Our parlour is just a single room in the chawl, so it is quite intimate. We don't have a lot of space, but we keep everything organized so we can work properly. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We have the usual chairs and mirrors, and we do all the standard beauty work like hair cutting and threading. The water situation can be a bit of a hassle sometimes, but we manage. Most of our customers are from the immediate neighborhood, living in the same chawl or the ones next to it. It’s a very humble setup, and we aren't trying to pretend it’s a high-end salon. It’s just a place to come and get your hair done without any fuss. The kids are always playing out in the lane, and there’s always music or television sounds coming from the other rooms. It is just real life in Mumbai for us and we just keep the work going.
