Working out of MIDC Turbhe in Navi Mumbai keeps us right in the middle of all the industrial action. NANDAN GROUND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT PVT. LTD. is situated at D-205 in the TTC Industrial Area. It’s a big area with lots of trucks moving in and out all day long. We focus on making equipment that helps planes and other large transport on the ground. It sounds complicated, but for us, it’s just about getting the metal and the hydraulics right. Our workshop is quite large because the things we build take up a lot of space. We’ve been in Thane district for a long time now. The weather here can get really humid, which makes the work even tougher in the summer, but the team is used to it. We aren't the type of company that has a lot of meetings or colorful brochures. We spend our time on the shop floor checking the welds and making sure everything fits together. It's a lot of physical labor and mechanical thinking. Customers usually come to us because they know we've been around the block a few times. We just try to be practical about everything. The machines we make are built to be used hard, so we build them that way. It’s a noisy life here in Turbhe, but it’s where we belong. We just get on with the job and try to stay busy.
