N. S. Chemical Industries

Our place is tucked away at number 87 inside the Bombay Talkies Compound in Malad West. It’s a bit of an old spot, with a lot of history in these buildings, but we use it for our chemical business now. It can get pretty cramped in the compound with all the other units around us, but we’ve made it work for a long time. Most mornings start with checking the inventory and seeing what needs to be mixed or shipped out. Malad is always busy, so getting deliveries in and out can be a bit of a headache with the traffic on the main roads. We mostly deal with industrial chemicals, nothing too complicated, just stuff that other businesses need for their own production. The walls here could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re more focused on the drums and the orders than how the office looks. It’s a family-type atmosphere here, where everyone knows each other’s business. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that, just a few of us making sure the chemicals are handled right. Some days are long, especially when a big shipment arrives late in the afternoon and we have to unload everything by hand. We just stay until the job is done. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we know how to do. Being in Malad West makes it easy for the staff to get to work on the train, so that’s a plus for everyone.
