N J Shah Brothers

N J Shah Brothers is based in Room Number 25 on the second floor of Damodar Fort. You can find us in Shivaji Nagar. The building is positioned right behind the Chitralekha Press, which most people in the neighborhood know. Damodar Fort is an older building with a lot of character. Getting up to the second floor involves taking the stairs, and you’ll pass a lot of other small workshops and offices on the way. It’s the kind of place where people are always busy working with their hands or moving goods. Our room isn't very big, but it’s enough space for us to keep our things organized. We have a couple of old desks and some shelving against the walls. Shivaji Nagar is a crowded area, so there is always a lot of noise from the street—trucks, rickshaws, and people shouting to each other. Being behind the press means we sometimes hear the hum of the machinery when they are running a big job. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and we know the other tenants pretty well. It’s a basic, no-frills environment. There aren't any air conditioners, just the big ceiling fans that we keep running all day. We just come in, do what needs to be done, and head home. It’s a very typical Mumbai workspace where the focus is just on getting through the daily list.
