You can find us at Sant Savta Marg, specifically in the Low Level Section 1 of Dree Nagar. We are right next to the Lower Parel station. If you live in Mumbai, you know how busy that station gets. It’s a lot of people moving all the time. We are there to give them something quick to eat like idlis and medu vadas. We start very early because the commuters are already on the move before the sun is even up properly. The smell of sambar is usually the first thing people notice when they walk past our spot. It is a very small place, not a big restaurant where you sit for hours. Most people just stand and eat or take a packet for the office. The station noise is always there in the background. It is part of the life here. We have been doing this for years. The batter is ground fresh every day. We don't have a big menu, just the basic South Indian items. It is honest work. We see the same faces every morning, which is nice. Sometimes the queue gets long when a train arrives, but we move fast. We aren't looking to be famous. We just want to make sure the food is hot and ready for the crowd. Being near Lower Parel is great because there is never a dull moment. We just keep steaming the idlis and serving the tea. It is our daily routine.
