Being right here in Mahim, across from the Bharat Motor Training School, means there is always noise outside. If it’s not the cars, it’s the general bustle of Mumbai that never really stops. Our college is tucked into this busy area near Lady Jamshed Road, and we’ve been training people to become Urdu teachers for quite some years. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes, like most places in this part of the city, but we make it work. The students come from all over, often rushing in from the station or getting off a crowded bus. You’ll see them sitting in the common areas with their notes, probably worrying about their next exam or teaching practice. We don't have a giant campus with big gardens, but the building has a lot of history to it. The hallways are narrow and the stairs have seen better days, but there’s a lot of learning happening inside. Sometimes the electricity acts up, or the rain makes things a bit damp during the monsoon. We just get on with it. The staff knows most of the students by name because we see them every single day in the corridors. It’s a practical place for people who really want to teach. We focus on the books and the lessons, keeping things simple without any extra fuss or unnecessary decorations. It is just a place for people to get their education and move on to their careers.
