Mumbai Darbar

Mumbai Darbar is located right on Maulana Shaukat Ali Road in the Grant Road area. We are in the Ferzadi Building, taking up shops one and two. It’s a very busy part of the city, especially being so close to Shalimar Talkies. People are always walking past or looking for a place to sit down for a bit. The street outside is noisy and full of traffic, but inside we just try to keep things moving. We’ve been here long enough that the local shopkeepers and residents know us by name. It’s a straightforward place with no extra frills. We spend our mornings getting everything ready before the afternoon crowd starts coming in. Sometimes the orders pile up and we have to move fast. It’s just the way things go in this neighborhood. The building at 355/356/A is old and has seen a lot of changes, but we’ve stayed in our spot. We aren't trying to be anything other than a local eating house. You won't find any complicated menus here, just the usual stuff people like to eat when they are out near Grant Road. We make sure the tables are wiped down and the food is hot. That’s about it for us. We just open up every day and do the work that needs doing until it’s time to close the shutters and go home ourselves at night.
