Mouldkraft Industry

Mouldkraft Industry is located over in Vikhroli West, right in the Damji Shamji Industrial Estate on LBS Marg. If you know the area, you know how the traffic is. We’re in unit number 1. It’s a solid old building. Inside, it’s all about the molds. We have stacks of metal blocks and finished pieces waiting to go out. The floor is concrete and has some cracks from years of moving heavy stuff around. It’s a bit dark in some corners, but we have good lamps over the workbenches. We don’t really do sales pitches. Most people find us because they need something specific made. Our fans are always on full blast to keep the air moving, but it still gets stuffy during the summer. We eat lunch together in the small break area, usually sharing whatever we brought from home. LBS Marg is always humming outside our doors. Sometimes we have to shout a bit to be heard over the machinery. We keep a ledger for everything, written by hand mostly. It’s an old-school way of doing things, but it works for us. We aren’t trying to be the biggest industry in Mumbai. We just want to get the molds right so the customer doesn't have to come back with complaints. It’s a lot of manual work and checking and re-checking. That’s just how we spend our days here.
