Mott Macdonald

We are based out of Mumbai, India. Mott Macdonald has been in this city for quite a while now. Our address is listed as Mumbai India India, which sounds a bit repetitive when you say it out loud, but that is how it is on the paperwork. The office is right in the thick of everything. We start the day early because if you do not beat the morning rush on the trains, you are going to be late and frustrated. The office isn't anything out of a magazine, just desks, a lot of monitors, and some old filing cabinets that we should probably clear out one day. We spend most of our time looking at blueprints or typing up long reports. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that is usually the highlight for most of us. Sometimes it gets really humid, and the ceiling fans just move the warm air around, but we manage to get through the pile of work anyway. We aren't trying to be anything fancy here. We just do the technical work that needs doing for our projects. There is always a stack of paperwork on someone’s desk waiting for a signature. We talk about the cricket scores while waiting for the printer to finish a big run of drawings. It is a group of engineers and planners mostly. Some of us have been here for years. When the monsoon hits, the commute gets messy, but we still show up. It is a regular office with regular people trying to finish their tasks before the sun goes down.
