We are at Shop No 3 in the Shamji Building, which is on Ramchandra Bhatt Marg. It’s right near the Noor Baug Junction in Dongri, so there is always something going on outside our door. Mumbai never really stops, and this corner of it is particularly loud. The shop is small, maybe smaller than people expect when they first hear about it, but we make the most of the space we have. The address is 2/18, and it’s an old building with a lot of character, even if the pipes groan sometimes. We have the usual stuff piled up in the back, and the front counter is where we spend most of our day talking to whoever walks in. Being near the junction means we see a lot of regular faces from the neighborhood. It gets really humid in the monsoon, and the rain sometimes splashes in if we don't watch the door carefully. We don't have any fancy decorations or a big marketing budget, just a simple sign and the work we do. Most people find us because they live nearby or they’re passing through Dongri on their way somewhere else. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when more than two people are inside at once, but we manage. We’ve been here at 400009 for a long time and the building has become like a second home to us after all these years of being part of this street.
