Modern Hindu Hotel

Modern Hindu Hotel is located on the 4th floor of Apeejay Chambers. This is right in the Fort area on Bhatar Road. Getting to us means taking the stairs or the lift up to the fourth floor. It’s a bit of an unusual spot if you aren't used to Mumbai office buildings. We’ve been here for a long time serving vegetarian food to the local office crowd. During lunch hours, the place is usually packed with people from the surrounding banks and businesses. It's not a quiet, relaxing restaurant. It’s more of a place where you eat your lunch quickly so the next person can have your seat. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy philosophy. We just cook the food every morning and serve it until it runs out in the afternoon. The space is simple with basic tables. It’s been the same for years and we haven't seen much reason to change it. The view from the windows isn't much, just other buildings in Fort. We are a no-frills kind of place. People know us for the food, not for the decor. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything. We just rely on the office workers who have been coming here for decades. It's a bit of a climb, but people still come up every day. We just keep the kitchen going and try to keep up with the rush.
