Modern Boring Works

Down in Mulund West, specifically in the Vakola area at Shop No 1 in the Ambekar Compound, you’ll find Modern Boring Works. We aren't in a shiny office building; we are in a workshop area where things get dirty. Our work involves boring wells and drilling into the ground, so we have a lot of heavy pipes, bits, and grease laying around the shop. It’s loud work and our clothes are usually stained by the end of the day. The Ambekar Compound is a place where people actually build and fix things, so we fit right in with the noise and the mess. We’ve been doing this for a long time and we know the soil around here pretty well. We don't have a marketing team or a sales department; people just find us when they need a hole drilled or a pump fixed. The shop is a bit dark and the walls could use a coat of paint, but the machinery is what matters and we keep that in good shape. We spend a lot of time out at job sites, so the shop is often just a place to store tools and take a break. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just dig holes in the ground and make sure the pipes go in straight. It’s hard on the back and the hands, but it’s what we’ve always done for the people in this neighborhood who need water.
