Mockingbird Wall Decals is tucked away in 103 Kamal Kunj, which is part of the JVPD Scheme in Vile Parle West. Our place is on J V Road, right across from Avm School. If you are here during the afternoon, you can hear all the kids shouting and the bells ringing when school lets out. It’s a lively little corner of the world. Inside the office, it’s a bit different. We have rolls of vinyl and cutting tools scattered around. I started this because I like the idea of changing how a room looks without doing a whole renovation. It is just a small operation. We spend a lot of time looking at designs on the computer and then making sure the machine cuts them just right. Sometimes the rolls are heavy and the space feels a bit cramped with all the scraps on the floor. It is not a shiny showroom; it’s more of a workspace where things actually get made. We take our time with the orders because we want them to look okay when they get stuck on someone's wall. Vile Parle is a nice place to be based, even with the traffic on J V Road. We just keep our heads down and work on whatever decals are next on the list. It is pretty straightforward work, really. We just make stickers for walls and try not to make a mess of it.
