Mobile Nexts

Mobile Nexts is our small shop in Mumbai where we spend most of our time looking at tiny screws and cracked phone screens. It’s a pretty basic setup with a couple of glass counters and a workbench in the back that is always covered in tools and charging cables. People come in all day with phones that won't turn on or screens that they dropped on the pavement. We do what we can to fix them up while they wait or tell them to come back in an hour. The city is always moving fast outside, and phones are such a big part of that, so we stay busy. We also keep some cases and chargers on the walls for people who need a quick replacement. It isn't a large showroom with a lot of staff, just a couple of us who know our way around a motherboard. Sometimes the repairs are easy and sometimes they take all afternoon, especially when the parts are hard to find. We don’t spend much on decorating the place because we’d rather have the right tools for the jobs. You can hear the traffic and the horns from the street all day long while we work. It’s a bit dusty and cramped sometimes but we like being right in the middle of Mumbai. We just focus on getting the devices back into working shape so people can go about their day.
