Mobile .Com is tucked away in Shop No 28 in Andheri East. It’s a small space, barely enough room for three people to stand comfortably at the same time. The shop is right in the middle of all the noise that Andheri is known for. You can hear the traffic from the main road all day long, and there is always a layer of dust on the glass counters that we have to wipe down every few hours. We don’t have any big corporate backing or anything like that; it’s just us working here day after day. The rent in this part of town is pretty high, so we try to use every inch of the shop for storage. Most of our customers are locals who live nearby or office workers rushing to the station in the evening. We have a small stool behind the counter where we take turns sitting down when the legs get tired. The lighting inside is a bit bright and flickering sometimes, but it gets the job done. We’ve been in this specific shop for a few years now and have seen many other businesses come and go on this block. We just stay focused on our own work and try to keep things simple. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s our living, and we’re used to the pace of this neighborhood by now. It gets busy, but we manage.
