Mitesh Beads

Mitesh Beads is located in Shop #3 within the J. M Compound. We are down in 3rd Bhoiwada on Chandi Gali, at 13/39. If you have been to this part of the city, you know how packed the alleys are. It is a lot of small shops all squeezed together. We have thousands of beads in every color you can think of. They are all kept in small plastic bins or glass jars that line the shelves from floor to ceiling. It gets a bit dusty because there is so much stock. Sometimes we spend hours just sorting through different sizes and shapes. It is tedious work, but someone has to do it. The lighting in the shop isn't great, so we often have to take things to the doorway to see the true color in the sunlight. We get all kinds of people coming in looking for specific items for their projects. We do not have a computer system or anything like that; we just know where everything is by memory. It is a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. The shop floor is small, so we have to be careful not to knock things over. If a jar of beads breaks, it takes forever to pick them all up. We just keep our heads down and serve the people who find their way to our little corner in Bhoiwada. It is a steady way to spend the day and pays the bills.
