Our office is in Stand Ford Plaza, specifically room 104. We are on the B-65 stretch of the New Oshiwara Link Road in Andheri-W. If you know Mumbai, you know how crazy the traffic can get out there. The plaza is a busy place with all sorts of businesses coming and going. We’ve been here for a while now, tucked away in our corner of the building. It’s a practical space, not one of those fancy modern offices with bean bags and espresso machines. We have a few old fans that hum all day and a lot of shelving for our files. Being in Andheri-W means we are close to everything, which is helpful. We spend a lot of time on the computer or talking to suppliers. Sometimes it feels like the walls are a bit thin because we can hear the neighbors, but it’s a friendly enough atmosphere. We like the local food stalls around the corner for a quick snack. There isn’t much of a corporate hierarchy here; we all just pitch in where needed. The mornings are usually the quietest time before the phones start ringing. We just focus on our international trade work and try to keep things moving smoothly. It’s a decent place to work and we’ve grown fond of the view of the link road, even with all the honking. It just feels like home to us after all these years.
